A uniform is designed to provide students with a sense of oneness and belonging. Student attention can be focused on academics and not the status or concern about fashion trends. The purpose of the uniform only holds true if all adhere to the policy.
All students are expected to report to school each day wearing the required uniform. The uniform must be purchased by our uniform provider: J.B. Pride Uniforms, 39 Cummings Park, Woburn, MA. Students wearing component parts purchased elsewhere will be considered to be “out of uniform.”
There will be occasional out-of-uniform days (“Dress Down Days”) announced during the course of the year. On these days, clothing should be neat and appropriate for school. Clothing more appropriate as beach wear or sporting events is not considered appropriate.
A good rule to follow: If you think you shouldn’t wear it, you shouldn’t.
In addition to the uniforms, the following requirements are also in place:
Extreme or trendy hairstyles are not permitted; hair must be a natural color
Boys’ hair must be cut at or above the shirt collar.
Earrings for girls are limited to studs or small hoops; boys are not permitted to wear earrings in school.
Other jewelry is limited to religious medals or crosses and watches.
Sweatshirts are not allowed during the school day (except when part of gym uniform)
Sketchers (or footwear similar to Sketchers) are not considered shoes; canvas topped footwear will be considered sneakers
All socks must be either crew socks, ankle socks or knee socks
Hats are not allowed in the school building.
The basic dress uniform can be worn during the whole year. It is mandatory for special Masses and at school performances.
Summer uniforms may be worn during the months of September and October (until Columbus Day), May and June.
