| Welcome to 5th grade! This will be an exciting year for your children. It is the first year students change classes, and I am looking forward to helping your children gain independence and develop important organizational skills. This year I will be teaching science, math, and religion. Our science curriculum will begin with our visit to E-Camp and builds on from there throughout the year. We will be studying rocks and minerals, the weather, and the environment around us. In math we will focus on number sense as we study decimals and fractions. Computation skills will be refined, and we will learn more about geometry and probability. Religion class will focus on the seven sacraments and what they mean to us as we grow in our Catholic faith.
