Ms. Martha Murphy - 7A

I am so pleased to welcome you to Saint Mary's Junior High.  Four years ago,  on my first day at Saint Mary's, the class of 2013 welcomed me as a subsitute in their third grade classroom I feel so lucky that I am able to return the favor and now welcome them as they make the journey across the street.

I believe that the junior high school years are the most formative years of a student’s life.  It is during these years that a teacher can either grab a students’ attention and instill a love of learning or, let the student drift away from academia.  Through my teaching experience thus far I have aimed to motivate my students in ascertaining their own inner strengths and abilities and discovering what it is that truly motivates them.  I have also hoped to maintain a classroom environment that fosters learning for all students at a variety of levels.  I have learned that classroom management is only achieved by careful planning and pacing.  Keeping students on task and using interesting and new teaching techniques keeps them engaged in class and allows for little down time.  This year we will be studying a variety of topics, keep up to date by checking our class site.
