There are times when either our students or their parents need a little extra support either academically or emotionally. Our resource room teacher and school counselor are always available to help. Don't expect to find them hidden in an office; they both visit classrooms on a regular basis.
Additionally, at St. Mary's we endeavor to educate the whole child. While we are committed to providing a stong curriculum in "reading, writing and 'rithmetic," we also want the students to explore and develop their other areas of intelligence. "Specialists" as they are lovingly called in the school include the Spanish teacher, the computer teacher, the art teacher, the music teacher, the librarian and the physical education teacher. Finally, there are times when classrooms need a little "extra." Our caring and experienced teaching assistants are always on call. Whether it be to help with a special project or to be a substitute teacher in an emergency our assistants are always ready and happy to do whatever is needed.
