| Welcome to 1B!
First Grade is a big growth year educationally, socially, and spiritually. Major emphasis is placed on developing good work habits that will follow the children throughout their academic careers and beyond. Skills learned in kindergarten will be reviewed and reinforced while further developing reading, math, social studies, science, religion, and the arts. The new skills and knowledge acquired in each subject are integrated into all our course work to enhance the learning experience and reinforce new concepts.
First graders learn about God and His special gift to us - His Son, Jesus. The children are encouraged to follow in Jesus’ footsteps by being kind, loving, caring, and respectful neighbors. We follow God’s Great Commandment – to love God, ourselves, and others.
It is very rewarding to see the changes that take place from the beginning of the year to the end. I am looking forward to a fun filled year!
